What we build
At Vokern, we develop proprietary digital learning systems that bring together instructional design, language technologies, and software engineering. VerbaBros is our own flagship platform, conceived, authored, and developed entirely by Vokern. It is the primary expression of this integrated approach. Designed as a complete French-learning environment, it can also serve as the foundation for institutional deployments adapted to specific audiences, pedagogical objectives, infrastructure constraints, and operational requirements.

VerbaBros is a vertically integrated digital platform for learning French, encompassing the complete learning system from pedagogical sequencing and original course content to the underlying application architecture.
It brings together CEFR-aligned progression, original grammar sequencing, and a comprehensive suite of active-practice tools, including dictation, pronunciation training, guided assessment, and structured writing feedback, within a unified learning environment.
The platform is founded on the principle that durable language proficiency requires more than exposure to content. It requires coherent progression, sustained practice, and learning activities designed around clearly defined linguistic objectives.
By developing the course architecture and software environment as a single system, we ensure that pedagogical sequencing, learner interactions, progress data, and application logic remain closely aligned. This integrated architecture allows pedagogical decisions to shape the platform’s functions, interactions, and data flows at every level.
Product technology
VerbaBros includes a proprietary pronunciation-training module built around a custom, self-hosted neural speech-recognition system designed for spoken French practice.
The system analyses oral input and provides targeted feedback within a structured pedagogical sequence. It operates alongside custom-built tools for dictation, guided assessment, and structured writing feedback, all integrated into the platform’s CEFR-aligned learning pathways.
Rather than adding isolated technological features to a conventional learning platform, VerbaBros integrates language technologies directly into its pedagogical architecture. Each tool is designed to support autonomous progression toward greater linguistic accuracy, fluency, and control.
Architectural adaptability
VerbaBros can be adapted to the infrastructure, pedagogical objectives, and operational constraints of institutional partners.
Because we control the platform architecture, application logic, and deployment environment, the system is not dependent on commercial third-party cloud APIs for its core learning functions. This provides greater flexibility over hosting, data processing, feature development, and institutional deployment.
Online deployment
The standard deployment provides a streamlined web-based environment with access to the complete online learning pathway and its associated practice tools.
It can be adapted to include dedicated institutional access, cohort management, customised learning pathways, specific FLE or FOS modules, and reporting functions.
Local or offline deployment
For projects involving unstable connectivity, strict data-isolation requirements, or limited internet infrastructure, we can develop a dedicated local deployment of VerbaBros.
This requires a project-specific adaptation of the platform, its content architecture, and certain interactive functions. Depending on the institution’s infrastructure and requirements, the resulting environment may be deployed on local workstations or an institutional network, with selected language-processing components hosted locally.
This adaptability enables institutions to preserve continuity of access, retain greater control over learning data, and deploy a system aligned with their technical environment rather than adapting their educational programme to the limitations of a generic platform.
